Flight to D.C.
By Senay Alkebu-lan (6th grade) On April 5th, we departed from the SFO airport at about 10:15 pm. I was extremely excited to fly for I haven't flown in a long time. I couldn't wait to get on the plane. At the airport, we took pictures with families and said our goodbyes. I gave hugs to my father and some of the other parents who wished me a good trip. In the lobby, we played PSPs and ate a small meal. We had to turn off all electronics until gaining high altitude. As soon as the lights went off, we broke our PSP's out. Some of the other students and I played our PSP's wireless on Midnight Club 3 which is a car racing/cruising game. Dante` and I were in the same row along with a kind woman sitting close to the aisle. I said ,"Welcome to U.S. Airways" as sort of a joke. Dante` helped me beat my "Lego Indiana Jones" video game which was great. We flew over rivers and massive lakes which was possibly the Sierra Nevada or the Rocky Mountains. Later on, after my PSP battery died, I took a nap using the blanket provided on the plane. I enjoyed the flight for my first time on a plane in three years. We touched down at the Philadelphia Airport at about 7:30 the next morning. There, I had the best plain bagel with whipped creme of my entire life. After boarding the plane, we had to wait a long time because of a waiting line of planes to take off on the runway. I then went to sleep. When I woke up, we were on the ground moving forward. "We are finally moving", I said. "We just landed. This is D.C. Brothuh", Baba Jahi replied to me. I missed the whole flight, but I had a long week ahead of me. I was going to have a good time. |
