BET Headquarters By Dante Johnson (6th) ![]() At the BET headquarters in Washington, D.C, the Ile Omode middle school students saw many important people. They saw the Designer and Planner, Antoinette Woodland; VP of Operations, Carey M. Manhertz; Editor, Andre Joyner; Overnight Supervisor, Jason Skinner; COO of BET, Scott Mills; and CEO of BET, Debra L. LEE. They are all very important, and the best thing is that they all love their jobs. When they got there Antoinette planned a snack for the Ile Omode students. She planned a very good lunch. Her job is to make interior designs for the building and to plan meeting dates. This job that she has is pretty cool. Then they met Carey M. Manhertz and he was a very calm person. He went out of his way to show them the headquarters. Carey was the tour guide for the whole day. He showed them one of the editing rooms, the other buildings that were connected, and the other important rooms. Speaking of editing, Carey escorted them to the editing room. In the editing room they met Andre Joyner and he was excited to see us walk through the door. Andre Joyner took time from a shooting of a commercial or a movie just to see the Ile Omode students. Andre Joyner’s job is to edit the commercial or movies that have been done. Now that is a very cool job. Then they met Jason Skinner. He is the overnight supervisor. He said he had to wake up at one o' clock in the morning and leave at nine o clock at night. Now that sounds like a very tiring job. He really went out of his way to show them around the set. They met Scott Mills and he was very calm. When they were sitting in the Black room they saw all of the people that they met before he came to the room. When they were in the room he talked about his life as a kid and his children. He spoke to them very kindly. Last but not least they meet Debra L. Lee. Just when they were about to return to the hotel she came walking in. Debra L. Lee’s job was the biggest job. She was at the top of the list. Her job is to keep everyone in check. |
